Yes, I walk to work and spend almost no energy heating my home. I use the car only when I have to and have a high mileage model. I am not a hypocrite. When it gets cold, I put on a sweater before I think about turning up the heat. I deliberately chose an office two blocks from my home so I could walk there.

I am one of the few living up to his theories: Where we live in San Diego/Point Loma, neither heating nor air conditioning is called for at any time of the year.
And if it were, we would rather suffer ;)
