I doubt if the author has sufficient data to state accurately that not a single new job was created in manufacturing. What the component makeup of jobs are is not of primary concern to me. The gross number of employed and their net payrolls is more interesting. The critical number though is related to the one number that your banker looks at. What is your income net of loan service? What is our GNP net of loan service? What is our trade surplus or deficit?
