I can't justify the expense either as I haven't used it to it's potential. In fact all my sound comes from simple ear phones because I am in an apartment right now. I have tried Napster and Yahoo and they do let you down load what you want as long as you are a customer. I prefer this to either of them but I understand you're concern as far as communicating with them. I have had no problem that I know of, unlike Google. Rhapsody is fun and this is the second time for me because I quit them about 2 years ago.
