Walmart is our friend; gay marriage, not so much, I'd guess.

But then there are probably plenty of people who lost out in the competition with Walmart in the midwest.

Gay marriage maybe (although it would be redundant because it was separately listed).

I'm not sure it really is as much about any specific policies as it is with perceived attitude.

I saw it summed up rather succinctly in an interesting post on another thread- it was very brief and said in its last sentence " Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems like nowadays the only things Democrats care about are GAY MARRIAGE and ABORTION."

Yup. That says red state to me.
