I did once. I also run spybot and adaware, and don't remember which it showed up on. I believe it was a keylogger.

But...the main point you should know is this>......

I intentionally visited what would politely be called a "very risky site." I knew it gave me something...and sure enough it had.

Thank haysooos I learned this lesson in cyberspace.

I have had a keylogger also. I rarely visit warez type sites but I have caught some bad stuff by mistyping a known site and ending up on a baddie. The toolbars and that kind of stuff are sometimes near impossible to remove but you do regular imaging so you really have no need to worry. 99% of the time time I just find tracking cookies. IMO, very little to worry about but then again it only takes about 10-20 minutes a week to get the updates and let them scan.

>Am I missing something here?<

Feel fortunate! You are missing keyloggers and all the associated computer slime, scum and trash. Like you, I feel as though I should be seeing all sorts of horrible invaders stunned by my very efficient software deflectors, but I only see cookies too. You must have a good firewall(s) system installed.

I'm running Norton antivirus 2005, AdawareSe, Microsoft's antispyware beta and Spy Sweeper behind a router.

I also use SpyBot plus Adware. Tracking cookies only, but everytime. Never a keylogger. I check this stuff weekly.
