Exactly. But you think it makes sense to treat subscribers who bought and paid for the service the same as those who got it, never wanted it, never had any plan to pay for it?

Of course not.. That has been my point all along. I believe that those "who got it, never wanted it, never had any plan to pay for it?"

SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN COUNTED AS A SUBSCRIBER TO BEGIN WITH!! BECAUSE THEY AREN'T.

Of course your CPGA is gonna go up when you do that. LOL!!

Not because THEY are paying customers. Because their subscription isn't free. These trial subscriptions are paid for by the OEMs.

Exactly my point. THEY ARE NOT SUBSCRIBERS! They are trial users using a service paid for by an OEM.

The problem with your scenarios (A & B) is that NEITHER accomplishes the stated intent of both the churn and the CPGA computation.

LOL!! Well, you better tell that to DISH, DirctTv, Verizon Wireless, Sprint/Nextel, TMobile, Cingular, Iridium, Globalstar, etc. Seems as though you believe that XM has "rewritten the Metrics rules" others should follow? Yup!! It's a rule breaker alright. If I'm wrong, so is the rest of the world as we know it. If you are wrong, then only you are wrong. Something to think about?

Likewise, if someone WANTS to compute a convoluted CPGA, they can do that as well.

All of the above Subscriber based business compute a "convuluted CPGA" (your definition) every Quarter.

Have you ever contemplated that maybe it's "not the rest of the world" that is doing it wrong? Just a concept to consider?

You can aruge with me all you want! Makes no difference.. You need to start working on the "bean counters". Maybe you can convince them that "you got it right, and everyone else has it wrong"?

And so it goes,
