Nixon had just been elected and announced his intentions in Vietnam. Kerry's diary proves he was on the Cambodian border (a river with no border markings) on Xmas eve, 1968. At the most this claim of Kerry's was a slight exaggeration, but it was not a lie. In fact, in Kerry's 30 year career he has never been guilty of any lying. Bush-Cheney get caught bald-faced lying all the time. Hundreds of times. About really important stuff too. Like why we need to rush into Iraq without a plan or body-armor for the troops. And why we let Osama go at Tora Bora. (Bush "He doesn't concern me anymore"). Or why illegal wiretapping of US citizens is necessary. Or why they woin't do anything about gas gouging, etc. etc.
