I hope the marine part makes up for it. Didn't seem like it would to me, but I certainly hope they get some happiness. Poor things.

Where you live sounds wonderful for 3 seasons, and not so great for winter ( I was going to say "not so hot" but I thought that would be a cruel cruel pun).

We have a little chicadee trying to figure how she
got herself trapped inside out screen-in porch.

The kids left the screen door open for the umpteenth
time and another bird has found its way in.

She keeps flying from screen to screen seeing her
buddies at the feeders. She can see the trees and
everything else she normally sees but can't figure
how to get back to it.

I tried to coax her out.

Even showed her the open door and demonstrated how to
use it.

So now I put some sunflower seeds on top of a cooler
and placed it next to the wide open door.

It should work.

That is how I got the last one out.

Hopefully, though it doesn't backfire on me.

I'm worried that the birds from outside might see it
and fly in for a snack and get trapped.

Pretty soon I may have a porchful of chicadees.

Update.

Bird has flown the coop.

The cat's window entertainment for the day is over.
