People move to France or Italy and they have to in some form or another become part of there culture. no?

And just what is so bad about that? If your old culture is so great, for goodness sake get back on the boat. The problem is that the old cultures get romanticized, and we end up with people thinking how wonderful it was back home. It wasn't that great or your family wouldn't have left. My family came here cause there was food. and they could own land, and they never went back. They never claimed the old culture cause they were bloody well starving. If your old culture was so superior why aren't you there living it? Because it wasn't. And if you would be better off in the old country you wouldn't be here you would be there. Canadians need to drop the burden of "the old country" and start to focus on making this country better.
