Two points - until the public stops thinking in absolute terms (which begins with not having absolutist declarations aimed at them 24/7), we won't escape the clutches of the political campaign consultants skilled at manipulating those sentiments into 51% victories that lapse into 40% minorities later. Second, I am surprised that the pro-Bush crowd hasn't taken up the numerous requests for more details on his accomplishments. They bristle at criticism of him but don't offer up much on the other side of the ledger. The invitation is still open.
