Wrong. the smearvets are not real vets except for a few extreme rightwinger types. The operation was run by rightwing GOP operatives. Some of them were paid to lie and contracted themselves. Many were caught int outright fabrications. The co-leader was exposed as a racist bigot extremist. None of the smearvets in the ads ever actually fought with Kerry. 98% of them never even met him in Vietnam. O'Neill himself is a longtime GOP operative. O'Neill openly lied the first day he introduced the smear campaign, claiming he had served with John Kerry (never met him in Nam) and that he had nothing to do with the GOP and Bush campaign (even though every single behind the scenes puppeteer in this scam was from the RNC's dirty tricks basement) If you believe one word those dirty bastards said you're either stupid or very dishonest with yourself.
