It is true. An agreement had already been reached between teh Secret Service and the Sheriff's department, but the local security people at the ranch reportedly were unaware of it.

The Sheriff does not have a problem with this at all.

I heard that the SS told the sheriff that they had jurisdiction. There was some talk that the sheriff's deputy came to the house.
