Well, at least you are consistent, no bellyaching from you as to why the Dems have been so unsuccessful.

Despite the fact you have tried to change the subject, let's at least look, for a moment, at the historical presidential stuff.

Carter, Kennedy, and Clinton have been the only Dem presidents in my lifetime.

You left Johnson out but that's not a problem. It's Saturday.

By my count, since you included Kennedy we can go back to 1960, the Dems have had the presidency for 5 terms, the Reps 7 terms. Certainly a count that favors the Reps but hardly overwhelming.

However, the more important point is that the last two presidential elections were, basically, 50-50. And it might be added, it was such with weak presidential candidates on the Dem side. It might be that, at least at this level, simply strong candidates are the key.

I don't think, however, that's the only issue at play. I like e's point.
