Yes, I recognize that. But that was the pre-election pitch. Governing is something else again.

I've just spent the last I don't know how long trying to find a neat paragraph that I just read listing Bush's less than conservative actions. It makes me crazy when I can't find things like that, but I can't. If the source comes to me, I'll post it. In any event, the problem with Bush from his backer's POV is that he's not all that conservative. It started with the steel protectionism and went downhill from there. So it's hard for me to see how you could perceive the administration moving to the right, Rove's agenda notwithstanding.

[There is a passive voice answer to that. It's that the Reps moved decisively to the right.

Since this is the second time in recent days you've said that, I figure it's not just a slip. Sorry to say that's not passive voice. Passive voice would be "the Reps were moved..." FWIW]
