Well... I suppose that's all I can expect from somebody who loves "sales." <Hoo><Hoo>

Listen JT... if you find a FRAM in either OMAP3 or Q's 3G thingy please send it to me right away... because I'll eat it and all the goose poop you can package it in. <Hoo><Haa>

There is simply no way TI is going to commercialize embedded FRAM in 6 months... much less drop it into it's flagship product right out of the box.

Believe me JT, "Signs and Wonders" are always required to precede such miraculous MoMo events. In this case they are not only missing, but there is published data at TI's web site denying that any such miracles are even contemplated.

It's one thing to entice your customers. But it's another thing entirely to mislead them as to the nature of the silicon they need to be preparing their software and programs for.

Ampy's plans to put FRAM inside its AMR products may have caught the entire world of digitopia by complete surprise. But TI is not some little UK Ampy... And their top of the line 3G SoC is not a utility meter. Where are the rumors out of Dallas? ...San Diego? ...Seoul? ...Wall Street? ...EE Chatrooms and Boards?

If you have been watching TI's development work with embedded SRAM, you know they have designs road mapped at least through the 035nm node which means they do not have to have FRAM to produce their SoC.

So the question you have to answer is this: Why would they complicate an already horribly complicated job, by trying to put embedded FRAM in their high value, higher risk flagship commodity product; when the simple old cheap IP will do just fine?

And oh yes... its true... I hate "sales" with a passion you wouldn't believe. <Haa><Hoo><Hoo>
