Since it's obvious that cheney and the people who witnessed the shooting aren't going to provide any more details than they fell they have to all we can do is make an educated guess from what we believe the facts to be. he stories which the people of the shooting party have told have been conflicting so far, sometimes even to the point of conflicting themselves as is the case with Ms Armstrong.

I don't think it is possible for a 28 gauge shell to do the damage that cheney's magic bullet did. If you loaded a special shell with an amount of powder which would be almost enough to blow up the barrel of a perrazzi 28 gauge and cut the shot down to say 1/4 oz (85) of shot or so I still doubt it would have the power to penetrate all of Harry's clothes and reach his heart. Even if such a shell could that's not what cheney would use to dove hunt. Most dove hunters use 5/8 to 3/4 oz loads with low brass (low power) shells. Most shot from a shell such as this probably wouldn't penetrate the skin and not far if it did.

The distance cheney was from his victim isn't what bothers me the most. It is that the most plausible answer to some of the questions which have been raised is that cheney had been drinking enough that he knew he couldn't pass a blood alcohol test and therefore plotted to cover his ass anyway he could. He didn't give the deputy permission to come to see him at the ranch after the shooting. He also drank more after the shooting. I think he did this so he could have witnesses that he had drank after the shooting and since they were all his people they would also say he hadn't drank before.

I think he also thought there was a good chance that Harry would die from his wounds which is probably true. The story just doesn't add up.

>>"In conclusion, I also have to say that I seriously doubt that Cheney consciously meant to murder Whittington. I don't know what the Hell happened out there, but I do know this: A 28 gauge shotgun, loaded with 7 1/2 birdshot COULD NOT be expected to do the job, unless the deed was to be done at point blank range.

So, why all the nonsense and the silence/coverup on the part of Cheney and his staff?"

Cheney was into the sauce and thought it would be a fun time to blast anything that moved.

What do you expect of someone who thinks it is "sporting" to blow away 70 pheasants released from nets for his "fun"?
