Indeed, just this past week the US Treasury hit its debt ceiling and curtailed some operations. It is in friday's WSJ

when the vast credit system of money lenders realizes it has no chance of collecting all of its debt from the average
American spender it will come up with a new way to repay that debt but still allows the spender to accumulate more debt....

it is now the American way, it is expected, it is necessary....

Go out today and use your credit card, it is a good thing...
