Works well for the republicans. Cheneys numbers cant go lower so lets just make him a sympsthetic figure by attacking him for the accident. My wife the liberal already feels sorry for cheney. Another week of quail-gate wont change the negatives on cheney but just increase the negatives on both the press and the dems as if those two werent already perceived by libs and cons alike as on in the same thing.

OFF To HOCKEY olymic hockey game on tv.

This week on Beat the Press (good local Boston PBS show about the media), both the host Emily Rooney (Andy Rooney's daughter, btw) and guest James Carroll opined that the press was making themselves look ridiculous and dismissable over the Chenney hunting accident thing. Neither Rooney nor Carroll can be called at all right of center, so their reaction was not partisan.

Another week of such foolishness will really put the icing on the cake, imo.

press pushed cheney and everything else fell off the news front so mags were left with nothing to put on front page as impulse sales. I have to assume they felt Gore in Saudi wouldn't sell. g
