Initially, Cheney claimed NO drinking...changed his story and said ONE beer. Then claimed he had another drink after the shooting. Sobered up before he talked to authorities, so we'll never know.

You must be an idiot. White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan tried to absolve Cheney by saying that Whittington did not follow protocol.

Prior to Scott's comments we heard the following:

<Whittington shot a bird and went to get it, breaking from Cheney and Willeford. Armstrong said Whittington then came up from behind without signaling, and as a covey flushed Cheney wheeled and fired his .28-gauge shotgun, hitting Whittington.>

Placing the fault again on Whittington...for not signaling! He came up from behind...which as far as I'm concerned is the correct direction in which to rejoin the party. How can he be blamed for Cheney swinging his gun through 180 degrees?

He can't be blamed...yet the fact remains that McClellan and Armstrong tried to do that.

Why? is the question here.

As for how many beers Cheney drank, that remains an unknown. At least one beer by admission.

Bush and Cheney will be in DC until Jan. 09.
End of story.

Yes you are probably correct. The impeachment trials will last at least that long.
