Ha, somebody's gotta counterweight the garbage from the NAR and lending industry don't you think? You don't think their arriving at the conclusion that paying off your mortgage is unsophisticated and a bad use of funds was arrived at objectively do you?

Homebuilding industry is very fragmented. Only a small percentage of the industry has been represented by publicly listed companies. I don't think you'll find the answer by looking at only publicly listed firms, and I think you'll find that many of the troubled firms were acquired by the larger firms in the last 10 years.
