The cops would have taken us to the local police station. You DON'T want to be a "visitor" to a Mexican police station! They don't play by American rules.

In 3 of the 4 cases we did NOTHING that I know of. And the cops only claimed we had committed an "infraction"- -no details. I think they saw a couple gringos ricos in a car and decided they needed some money. In the 4th case there was a left turn light which went green. I turned left. At the corner, half hidden behind bushes, was a "No Left" sign. The cop decided the sign ruled. I think if I took a picture of the situation and went into most US court rooms, I walk out exonerated and the city would be ordered to decide which it wanted- -a legasl let or no left.
