Amy

re: List out each and every Muslim country that is being lead by a female and then list out the achievements of that country while under her leadership. If you can't do this, you are ignorant on the issue.

I freely admit that I am ignorant on the issue but I would like to see the list.

if you mean Indonesia

en.wikipedia.org

then you might want to read articles similar to the following:

mfasia.org

if you are speaking of government envolment of wemen in Iran then you would be implying that wemen have more rights in Iran than US. Wemen government officials in Egypt do not mind honor slaughters of young girls

Like I said, I am ignorant on the topic but I never thought that wemen have more rights in muslim countries

That's just silly, Amy. So how about I say that you don't know what you are talking about when it comes to Muslims, because you can't list out every violent act they've committed over cartoons. You must be ignorant of Islam, because you can't list out every verse of the Qu'ran. If you could, then you'd realize when I say Islam is a religion of violence, I am just taking my queues from having read the Qu'ran.

As far as sexism, I'm not going to fight that battle with you. This country has more rights for women than ANY Muslim country, including those with female Presidents. If you think having a female President is evidence of the emancipation of their women, then you are sorely mistaken. The real question is if you have actually lived in any of those countries for long enough to get a flavor of the differences. If you have not, then it is you who doesn't know what they are talking about. Or alternatively, have your read about the lives that women have in any of those countries. Do they even have half the freedoms the women in the US have? The answer is no.

Is it a tragedy that we haven't had a woman as President yet? I'd say of course it is, but I'm also confident that day is coming very soon. In fact, having the buffoon Bush as President may hasten that day. Anyway, if you want to think I'm sexist go right ahead. You couldn't be further from the truth. If you want to call me an Islamophobe, well then, you'd be closer to the truth.
