Disgustingly loose laws there - almost as bad as Italy. I think you mean penalties. Frankly, I'm pretty impressed that four local citizens have been convicted in a case against a non-citizen. I don't know the details of the case, but it sounds like justice has been served. You can argue the penalty should be stronger (I have no idea what the penalty is for rape elsewhere, not really my field of knowledge!), but the law appears to have worked well if the four were guilty.
