Purple? Hmmm. My first car was a VW convertible, black. I thought it was darling.

My first new car was an 850 Fiat Spyder Convertable I bought in Germany while I was in the army. $1,800. Got stopped in Amsterdam for having 3 women with me in a two seat car plus 17 other violations like being drunk and driving through a store. I told the officer I had been at a wedding and was following the other guy they stopped who didn't have a license. Being as it was a SATURDAY wedding they let us go. Thank God I didn't kill anyone.

That Fiat didn't like Illinois winters and had to back it in at night because the gears wouldn't shift for two blocks.

My first car was a 1949 Plymouth that had 60,000 miles on it. My father started it by rolling down a hill and popping the clutch. Soon after I got it the clutch went out. "I drove this car for .... was the speech.
