Sorry, Tom..Playing the Ethnic card won't work with me. I don't think any other nation should be operating our ports. I think it is too important for other than an American Company to have that charge. If it costs a little more to let the contracts to an Amereican firm, then so be it.

If and when we are hit through the Port system, it will have nothing to do with "businessmen thinking". It will be because pressures of a completely differernt type were placed on individuals within the chain of command. That chain of command could be within the port management system. We can't know what those pressures are, or how they will be exercised but in my mind there is a greater chance of such pressures being placed on a UAE company's employees than on an American company.

Remember when the Administration said noone could have foreseen someone crashing passenger jets into buildings? Well, I can foresee the possibility of a container disaster or worse within one of our ports.

So, if this business deal increases our risk by 1%, it should be disallowed.
