I am interested in the names of any blank check IPOs that target acquisitions in either energy companies or asset management companies.

Highbury Financial, which recently completed its IPO, will be focusing its acquisition efforts in the area of financial services, and may acquire a securities firm or a company involved in the area of investment management. Jaguar Acquisition, which is currently in registration, has disclosed that it will be looking to do a deal in the “financial services” industry. General Finance, also in registration, is looking for an acquisition in the “specialty” finance area.

Viceroy Acquisition and Energy Infrastructure Acquisition, both still in registration, are looking for deals in the energy industry.

Many of the blank check companies have not been overly specific about potential areas of interest. The fact that a company discloses that it is targeting a specific industry, does not necessarily mean that it will end up actually doing a deal in that industry. All of the companies reserve the right to cast a wide net.
