My question is would there be anything these people would fight for? Peace is just not the cessation or absence of war. We have seen many regimes, from Stain's Russia to present day China and North Korea(not to mention the corrupt ME regimes) which are not at war per se, but certainly do not hold the interests of the people at heart in any way whatsoever.

Flying a peace sign is not enough to "make" peace, as peace is a ongoing process, and not an end.
