Close,

Cheney has no interest in the country's success for failure, but he has a lot of interest in lining his pockets, and Halliburton is one of the conduits for his graft.

LIAR. Cheney has a HUGE financial interest in Halliburton.
Quit defending crooked, corrupt politicians.

Number one, he lied saying he was divesting completely and held onto 650,000 options and about a $250,000 a year salary.

Number two, he could certainly step right back into his CEO's job after he leaves office. Plus, he is certainly acting like he has a financial interest by steering every fat contract he can to Halliburton on a no-bid basis.

Halliburton stock has gone up about 500% since Cheney took office. Those options have grown in value by many millions of dollars. In fact, do the math. HAL currently at $70 x 650,000. Isn't that $45,000,000? More than the $35,000,000 in HAL stock he sold before becoming VP.

In Cheney's world I guess politics is really a direct means for profiting off the public teat by steering huge contracts to your cronies who will be waiting with fat checks and offers.
