''Our primary reason," the editors confessed, is ''fear of retaliation from . . . bloodthirsty Islamists who seek to impose their will on those who do not believe as they do . . . Simply stated, we are being terrorized, and . . . could not in good conscience place the men and women who work at the Phoenix and its related companies in physical jeopardy. As we feel forced, literally, to bend to maniacal pressure, this may be the darkest moment in our 40-year-publishing history."

Thank you and Taro for posting that article. It makes my point completely. The American media is afraid....much more so than in Europe where they are must closer to the ME; where they have a relatively larger Muslim population; where they are facing greater danger. Its unbelievable.....there are probably only a couple thousand Muslims in all of Boston and the chicken shit editor is afraid. And the American media is afraid of Bush and their corporate owners.....so they have kept a muzzle over what is said in their papers or on their newscasts.......Americans finding out the truth of things much too late.

And its not just the media.....most Americans are afraid; afraid of Muslims, of the ME, of Saddam, of bin Laden, of bombs blowing up in their backyard. Isn't that the real reason why we are in Iraq? Why Americans are saying little as Bush expands his powers at the expense Congress. Why Bush got re elected. We are terrified of some plane we are riding flying into a skyscraper, or some Muslim appearing at the foot of our beds with a sword to chop off our heads. Muslims have become the boogeymen of our childhoods.

How did we get to be such babies? Most of us have some of the easiest living on the planet......we don't have to worry if we will have a roof over our heads or food on the table. And yet we cower in front of our tvs worried that a terrorist will somehow manage to come through the tv screen and execute us as we sit in our livingrooms or kitchens or game rooms.

Tell Taro I said he's brilliant.
