These things have a tendency to snowball, they can be contagious. Of course the worst case scenario is a ME embargo; the catalyst might be Israel or the US or the UN bombing Irans nuke facilities. That could result in not only higher prices, but an actual shortage of fuel. Even with rationing, it would shut down major parts of our economy.
