re: They did. The idea being that they always think somebody else should be raising the wages of the working poor even though they don't do that themselves when presented with the opportunity to do so EVERY DAY.

You've been away from the country too long. Do you know any working poor in the US? Yeah, they can leave their job at Walmart and get a job a McDonalds for an extra nickle per hour.
