just look at the similarities between 2004 and 2006;
(based on AMAT outlook we can already guess what bookings might look like over the next 3 to 6 months and than look back to 2004 and see how the stock price behaved relative to bookings)
if there's any inversion than it's between bookings and stock price (this appears shaping up to be a typical "cycle" behavior).

Certainly a big "selloff" day today. Whether this will continue, or not, is the question. I haven't seen the narrative of the Citigroup downgrade to understand their reasoning.

With the SIA predicting rising semi sales for 06 and 07, and the recent increase in SEMI orders to support that projection, it would seem too early in the cycle to have a sustained "selloff" of the semis and semi-equips.

However, having said that, stranger things have happened in these sectors.
