Actually, what Caesar Milan (The Dog Whisperer) does is a bit more complex than that......he trains humans.

I think one reason our dog Daisy is so mellow is that she knows where she stands in the pack. That gets her a lot more of what she wants than being alpha dog like her mother Ruby. Ruby and Daisy's half brother are staying with us for a while. They have to stay outside 24/7 because they are used to being alpha dogs and jump up on the couch or whatever they want.
