I've got a quantifiable reason: 9-1-1. Also, a number of American papers have run those cartoons that the Muslims are so upset about. Since they are quite willing to burn embassies (which are suposed to be protected by the host country) and kill people over them, why should we asumme there will be no spill-over here. How are the employees of these companies checked out? What assurances have we there are no al Qaeda among their employees? This is like hiring Japanese nationals to run Pearl Harbor during WW II. You want a bad precedent? What was 911 but just that? And that is only one of a long string of incidents.
