The Chinese are not more productive per hour worked, but they are certainly more productive on a cost per product basis, because they work for scraps.

Not in every case but I understand your point. By increased productivity I mean more production per hour worked. In the long run such increased productivity should free up resources to be used for the production of new goods and services but the transition is painful for many people, and in the modern economy the transition is fairly rapid and continual.

Certainly Clinton, who did a good job of limiting government growth. Remember the quote "The era of big government is over"

Yes a very silly quote coming from him, or really any post FDR president (including of course GW).

Why do you support Bush?

I support him on some things, and I'm against him on others. Unfortunately no realistic presidential candidate gets anywhere close to my overall political views.
