they let out a contract to an Arab company to manage all the major ports on the east coast.

You still don't know the facts? Nobody let out any contract. The contract was held by a British company that the UAE company is trying to acquire. If there are problems with the UAE company taking over the contract via acquisition, please list them...

WTF. YOU get your GD frigging facts straight. The UAE company bought a British firm which manages US ports. That transaction requires the approval of the US gov't; otherwise, the contract for managing the US ports can be cancelled. Is that frigging clear enough for you, anal half wit?

As for why it may not be such a great idea has to do with the fact that the UAE company is state owned and relations between the US and the Muslim world are not at an all time high. Whether that will impact the management of the ports, I don't know, but its something that needs to be considered.
