People like Roach are correct in arguing globalization has held inflation down. But the absolute rate still is much higher than the spin doctors admit IMHO.

What we seem to have today is a new version of the Treasury-Fed accord which kept rates artificially low in the US from World War 2 through 1951 if memory serves.

Only today the accord is informal and between the Treasury, the Fed, and foreign CBs.

There is no other reason bond yields could be so low this far into an inflationary crack-up boom IMHO.
