Also losing ground were shares of LCA-Vision Inc., which beat expectations for its fourth quarter but offered an outlook for 2006 below the consensus estimate.

Shares were down $6.01, or 10.8 percent, to $49.88 on INET, from their Nasdaq close of $55.89.

Oppenheimer analyst Glen Losev saw the drop as "a great opportunity to initiate or add to a position," and reiterated a "Buy" rating on the shares of the laser vision correction company, branded as LasikPlus.

"We continue to believe that the company's business model, financing options, and the geo-economic make-up of its markets allows LCA-Vision to generate volume gains considerably above the industry average, driving revenue and earnings growth," Losev wrote in a note before the company's conference call to discuss its fourth-quarter results.
