Yes, that is a very promising avenue for treatments.

(This new theory that most cancerous masses have a few mutant stem cells at their heart though, and are constantly birthing new cancerous cells, calls into question such medical treatments that kill only the currently cancerous cells.... Because, if the mutated stem cells [which live 'forever'] are still around, they will just birth new cancerous cells. So the *new* medical idea that will be investigated is: learn how to kill the mutated stem cells that lie at the heart of the cancerous mass... then, the cancerous cells [which are all short-lived], will die off normally, or can be 'helped' along by being targeted with medicines.)
