I didn't say "all" Republicans or conservatives nor did I
address whatever your personal reasons might be.

In short, your disagreement doesn't invalidate my observation.

The administration, as usual, is behind the power curve
in making its case to the public. Jlallen is right in that;
more explanation is required to overcome the naysayers
and to satisfy legitimately raised concerns.

"I oppose it because there is no reason to outsource our ports to any foreign country, let alone a Muslim one."

These port operations are private enterprise, not government operations being "outsourced". And they are already owned by a non-US company.

As for the proposed buyer being Muslim (to attribute a human characteristic to a corporation), show me a meaningful link between the company and any terrorist organization - i.e. other than common religious or ethnic heritage - and I'll oppose the deal, too. But I will not oppose it merely because they are Muslim.
