You pointing that out concisely made me more convinced. The articles I read previously convinced me the it is the Coast Guard that is responsible for security in every port in the US. I doubt if we are doing a great job. Over 60,000 containers arrive in US ports every year. in a recent year, customs or immigration searched around 200 of them.
