Moderate arabs like the dictatorships we support? The saudis already have us over a barrel. Now arabs can embargo oil and fail to protect our ports if we lets say intervene in the mideast in some future crisis. The above may not be true but thats the political perception that went right under the bush admin radar. Lets not be naive--if they had this to do over, they wouldnt do it.

plus we have a large balance of payments owing them in trade . they appear to big buyers of american products including autos. this was a treasury deal... expect more to come that will shake out this whole thing which was blown out.. why? i still think politics. i find it hard that the congress folks like king, schumer etc that have been around a long time do not know the system or couldn't have gotten an answer before jumping in front of cameras.
