If globalization only referred to manufacturing there would be few left in America to complain -- most of those jobs have already been decimated. The globalization now taking place is one of work itself, as well as markets. The person in Malaysia buys something designed in Japan and manufactured in China tracked with software written and supported in India. We are no longer the hub attached to the spokes of the global economy. We can, and increasingly are, bypassed and eliminated altogether.
