What, like sleep deprivation during questioning? That's not cruel. Ask John McCain about cruel.

For that matter, ask my father in law. He spent two years in Stalag 3. That was a posh prison camp by comparison to those operated by the Japanese, and the Germans treated officers better than enlisted POWs. But Dad still had to walk 300 miles in the middle of winter without adequate food, shoes, or clothing. The Germans ransacked Red Cross supplies and gave the POWs only things they didn't want. They fed the men cabbage and an unsatisfactory diet. THAT's cruel.

Prisoners at Gitmo get Muslim food three times a day, are provided with the Koran, and are allowed to exercise. That's not cruel.

The Abu Grahib prisoners, even those who were taunted by inexperienced US guards who were operating outside instructions, were hardly abused by comparison.
