"Understand that I was raised Jewish, and in fact operate a website of Jewish information and education, and I'd never heard of the practice until you told me about it."

I married into a Jewish family and can confirm that few Reformed Jews know about the practice. The rabbis are another matter. All rabbis are familiar with the practice.

"And if it's in the Talmud, there are probably six other opinions in the Talmud against the practice."

Another bit of apologetics based on thin air and a desire to justify such talmudic teachings.

Yes I do, and it is unfair and unjust to pretend that all Jews practice are circumcised by a sucking rabbi. At the same time, why won't Jews acknowledge that the practice is codified in the Babylonian Talmud and defended by many prominent rabbis even today?

No rabbis that mean anything to 90% of American Jews will defend it. And if it's in the Talmud, there are probably six other opinions in the Talmud against the practice.

You are never going to convince him of anything. He gets a lot of mileage off that practice. Its like trying to convince OBL that America is a good and pure country.

BTW is there any chance the Talmud can be amended. I must say that's a rather grim practice and should not be in a holy book.
