<< "How would you characterize the conservatives that object to the proposition?" >>

Conservatives can be wrong, just like any other folks, particularly when they form an opinion early on, then stick to it come hell or high water. And they well may be right. I'm still sorting the Known Facts™ out on the Port issue myself.

When the port issue was just heating up I said this is one issue where perception could easily trump reality, even if the facts show that the Admin made a proper decision. The DNC & MSM, as usual, were quick to misrepresent the facts & falsely frame the issue while the Known Facts™ lagged far behind. And I'm even more sure those initial perceptions will stick this time.

Because this involves an area of national security where we are admittedly vulnerable with no hope of making our ports completely safe, most folks have already formed an opinion based on what was initially reported via the DNC/MSM lense. They are unlikely to bother to continue following the story since it just seems wrong to allow an Arab country to manage our ports.

It will hardly matter when the lies & intentional misrepresentations are debunked & the Known Facts™ are sorted out. Overwhelming public perception will dramatically override reality on this issue.
