I'm grateful that I'm not responsible for the outcome. It's a conundrum of the highest order.

I think we can impose democracy, but not if we insist on being politically correct until it takes root. Bad guys are going to have to go. If they don't want to make it work, bye bye!

Al quada backed sunnis along with baathists and angry sunni street vs Iranian backed shiaa plus angry al sadr. This is a battle we want to avoid. Only thing they have in common is that they blame us. We pulled the plug on saddam and this is now where we are. Our chief goal now if this gets any worse is how to keep our folks safe. At least we got the Kurds and perhaps we can influence the turks to cede territory to the new kurdistan (fat chance) and hope that the iranians and syrians will also cede their kurd area (fatter chance). Oh well.
