My understanding is that New Orleans is glad to be rid of the riff-raff. You're probably familiar with the stories that after Katrina when the Special Forces brought back from Iraq and Afghanistan started taking back the city, they killed a lot of drug dealers and gang-bangers. I've heard every number from 50 to 300. Put the bodies in the Mississippi where they will never be seen again. Could be rumor but I've heard it from a lot of people.
