Yes, IMO there is. because it moves the whole issue up t a media style sensational issue and removes the focus from where it should be aimed at. When some producer of kitchen utensiles or food decides to get his product kosher certified, how is that procedure? As far as I have heard and read he needs to contact one of several large organizations handling this issue. I even have a list of them somewhere. Such organizations cost money to maintain, right? So no doubt some costs are involved but nobody seems to know how much. Next, its a fact that Heinz Canada decided to drop their kosher certification program in Canada. Changing status quo costs money, right? So the bottom line seems to be that they did that in order to save money or decreaes cost of their product, two sides of the same coin I would say. How much money are we talking here? Nobody knows. But I strongly suspect I pay a contribution to this program when I buy my Heínz in the USA. I don't when I buy it in Germany. Or in the UAE as Elroy reported ;) Taro
