>>>Though some question the quality of the assets<<<

We'll see how the two new producing sites Sao Francisco & Chapada play out. Looks like previous AUY production was only 110 out of two properties, about what DEZ brings in current production from one. RNC added only 120 and some hope. We'll see if synergies can be achieved, aggressive build schedules kept and cost over runs avoided.

>>>Following the deal with RNC, Yamana was projecting production rates of 400,000 ounces of gold this year, more than 550,000 in 2007 and 650,000 in 2008.<<<<

DesLauriers needs to check his math. <ggg> DEZ is alone projected to be producing 250,000 oz per year by 2008. Add that to 650,000 and they are up to 900,000 oz/yr. Stretching that to 1.0MM oz/yr only requires the addition of 100,000 oz. Quick acquisition should do that, or they could bring C1 Santa Luz on line.

Like I guessed Marrone wants to run a major, not be in the ranks of 'intermediate.'
